Map Landscapes

My work centers on the idea of home- not just as a physical location, but as a feeling of belonging and connection to place. I’m drawn to the quiet sensory moments that root us in a landscape: the warmth of sun on skin, the smell of the air as seasons shift, or the stillness of watching the sun disappear below the horizon.

By painting landscapes over maps, I merge emotional memory with literal geography. The maps guide the composition while grounding the work in a specific place, allowing the landscape to emerge from the very lines that define where we are.
